Once a year, for just a few hours, we shut down the Route 116 Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge and #MEETintheMIDDLE for a FREE pop-up street festival. The event spans the Connecticut River just below the roaring Holyoke Dam, filling the bridge with a joyful spectacle of music, art, food, and celebration.

Our 2018 lineup features a series of remarkable artistic collaborations, with musicians and dancers parading in from opposite sides of the bridge to join forces on our center stage. Here’s a sneak-preview of this year's exciting performances:
** Latin Grammy Award winner, Mister G teams up with a dozen drummers and dancers to invigorate his Samba inspired songs with the raucous rhythms of The Berkshire Bateria & Bossa Triba.
** Holyoke High School’s viral wordsmith and YouTube sensation, Roshay leads the hip-hop dance crew, CRAZEFAZE in a flash mob style street performance.
** Summerville’s Desperate Measures Street Band kicks off the festivities with the Valley’s own Expandable Brass Band, swarming the bridge with an ecstatic, brass cacophony.
** High School Marching Bands and Community Bands from both sides of the river will converge to form a huge ensemble (200 musicians strong), playing a rousing Irish anthem above the swirling current.
And that's just a taste! Other performers include The Salsa Train Orquestra., Prone to Mischief, Below the Gaff, Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society Brass Band.
Bring your bicycle, unicycle, stilts, chalk, and skates. Blow a giant bubble, spin a hula hoop, shake a tambourine, and dance to the raucous rhythm of fifteen flamboyant drummers. Wear a costume or paint your face and help us transform the bridge into a spectacle of music, art, dance, food, and celebration.
We'll have a fleet of food trucks on both sides: El-Guanaco, South Hadley, MA, Bruiser's BBQ Food Truck, Corsello Butcheria, Holyoke Hummus Company, Bistro Bus, Murphy's Pub Agawam, Ma, as well as Crooked Stick Pops and Chill Out if you fancy something cool and sweet.
